I wasn’t really impressed with the voice acting, seems like the voice acting your would expect from when it took place (1950s), not when it was made (2008). I felt like this was such a disjointed, needlessly sprawling, almost random animated movie I have ever seen. So I’m writing this review, just so someone who feels like me can find it. And I am honestly baffled by what I have seen. But after watching this movie, I went to see various reviews, by critics, Reddit, rotten tomatoes etc. I have the feeling that this movie is targeted at fans of those periods. Firstly, the countryside is breathtaking. Bakka is married to Svetlana, a Russian woman, and they have two children. ![]() She's moved from the city with her older husband Perry, (John Waters) and adds a sort of Seachange aspect to the mix. There is some simmering sexual tension between the two leads, Jeremy Sims as Bakka, and Libby Tanner as Lill. We know there is going to be alot of bushfires, and we know that the characters are going to come into some serious conflict. This is all set in the sweltering pot of a brutally hot Australian summer. Primarily about three different couples, we watch as they deal with their jobs, their private lives and the issues of the local community. This show is about a group of country volunteer firefighters. But lets not fault the ABc for actually encouraging fresh Australian content that is not situated around a hospital or police station. One thing's for certain, it needs a 7:30pm Sunday timeslot. This is sweeping drama, based on realistic people and realistic situations. It is interesting to look at this show, given that it timeslot was moved from Sunday nights to Thursday. Fireflies is the new Australian drama, currently screening in its first season on the ABC. ![]() ![]() It was YA week, so I thought I'd queue up something from the YA category, and this book came up as a suggestion. ![]() Suffers from mis-categorization and melodrama To save him, Enne will need to surrender herself to the city.and she'll need to play.
